Monotheism


Definition:
                 the belief in the existence of one God or in the oneness of God


Sample Sentences:

  • Monotheism is the belief in a single God.
  • All the prophets preached Monotheism.
  • Without the assumptions of biblical monotheism much that has been achieved under the influence of those assumptions may not be able to stand.

Paragraph:
                 Monotheism states that there is only one God, not multiple.  It is a doctrine that is typically more accepted than polytheism, the belief in multiple gods.  Some of these religions are Hinduism, Sikhism, Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Proto-Indo-European religion and many others.
