Definition of Kowtow:

to kneel and touch the forehead to the ground in expression of deep respect, worship or submission

Usage:

Kowtow, also known to be spelled as kotow, is traditionally a Chinese ritual.  It was commonly used in religious worships.  It shows a matter of great respect for another person.  It is still used today when foreign countries meet for a serious exchange of services.
